Introduction



What is Valuable?



Valuable is a mobile application designed to help you inventory, research, price, and market physical items. Using advanced AI technology, you can photograph items and instantly receive:



  • Item identification and description
  • Historical and contextual information
  • Comparable sales data from multiple marketplaces
  • AI-generated price suggestions
  • Keywords and categories for organization

Getting Started



System Requirements



  • iOS: iPhone or iPad running iOS 15.0 or later
  • Android: Device running Android 8.0 (API 26) or later
  • Internet: Required for AI features and sync (offline mode available for basic functions)



Creating Your Account


Here's a video on signing up,



  1. Download Valuable from the App Store or Google Play Store
  2. Open the app and tap Sign Up
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Create a secure password (minimum 8 characters)
  5. Tap Create Account
  6. Check your email for a verification code
  7. Enter the 6-digit code in the app
  8. Your account is ready!



Note: New accounts receive 40 free credits to try AI features.



Logging In



  1. Open Valuable
  2. Tap Log In
  3. Enter your email and password
  4. Tap Sign In



Password Reset



  1. On the login screen, tap Forgot Password
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Tap Send Reset Link
  4. Check your email and follow the link
  5. Create a new password
  6. Log in with your new credentials






Navigation Overview



Home Screen



The home screen displays your projects as a horizontal carousel of cards. Each card shows:

  • Project cover photo
  • Project name
  • Item count
  • Status indicator



Tap a project card to open it.



Bottom Navigation Bar



Located at the bottom of the screen:

Teardrop FAB (Floating Action Button)



The teardrop-shaped button in the lower portion of the screen provides quick access to:



Top button (+):

  • Create New Project
  • Create Item with AI
  • Create Item without AI
  • Bulk Upload Photos



Bottom button (camera):

  • Quick camera access for adding items



Navigation Panel



Access by tapping the folder icon in the lower right of the bottom navigation bar. Contains:

  • Account switcher (if you have multiple accounts)
  • Folder and project hierarchy
  • Create new project option
  • Search/filter for finding projects



Profile Drawer



Access by tapping your profile icon. Contains:

  • Your profile information
  • Account settings
  • Credit balance
  • Sign out option






Projects



Understanding Projects



Projects are containers for organizing related items. Common project structures:



  • One project per estate sale
  • One project per client
  • One project per collection category
  • One project per store location



Creating a Project



Method 1: From Teardrop FAB

  1. Tap the + button on the teardrop FAB
  2. Select Create New Project
  3. Follow the wizard



Method 2: From Navigation Panel

  1. Open the navigation panel (folder icon in lower right)
  2. Tap Create Project
  3. Follow the wizard



Project Creation Wizard



The wizard guides you through setup:



  1. Project Name: Give your project a descriptive name
  2. Location (optional): Set a physical address
  3. Dates (optional): Set start/end dates
  4. Cover Photo (optional): Choose a representative image
  5. AI Instructions (optional): Customize AI behavior
  6. Invite Members (optional): Add team members



Tap Create when finished.



Viewing a Project



Tap a project card to open it. The project detail screen shows:



  • Header: Project name, cover photo, item count
  • Tabs: Inventory, Manage, and other sections
  • View Controls: Switch between grid/list/detailed views
  • Filter/Sort: Narrow down displayed items
  • Search: Find specific items



Editing Project Details



  1. Open the project
  2. Tap the menu icon (three dots)
  3. Select Edit Project
  4. Modify name, location, dates, notes, or status
  5. Tap Save



Project Status



Projects can be Active or Archived:



  • Active: Visible in main project list
  • Archived: Hidden from main view, data preserved



To archive: Edit Project > Change status to Archived > Save



To unarchive: Find in archived projects > Edit > Change status to Active



Deleting a Project



  1. Open the project
  2. Tap the menu icon
  3. Select Delete Project
  4. Confirm deletion



Warning: Deletion is permanent and removes all items in the project.



Moving Projects



  1. Open the project
  2. Tap the menu icon
  3. Select Move
  4. Choose destination folder
  5. Confirm






Folders



Understanding Folders



Folders (also called organization folders) help you organize multiple projects. Use them to create a hierarchy that makes sense for your workflow.



Example structure:

Creating Folders



  1. Open the navigation panel (folder icon in lower right)
  2. Navigate to where you want the folder
  3. Tap Create Folder or the add folder option
  4. Enter folder name
  5. Confirm



Managing Folders



Rename a folder:

  1. Long-press or tap the folder menu
  2. Select Rename
  3. Enter new name
  4. Confirm



Delete a folder:

  1. Long-press or tap the folder menu
  2. Select Delete
  3. Confirm (projects inside will be moved, not deleted)



Move a folder:

  1. Long-press or tap the folder menu
  2. Select Move
  3. Choose new location

Creating an Item with AI

Here's a video on using the Valuable Camera to capture items:




  1. Open a project or tap camera from home
  2. Tap the camera icon on the teardrop FAB
  3. The camera opens
  4. Take 1-6 photos:
  • Aim at item and tap capture button
  • Continue for multiple angles
  • Thumbnail strip shows captured photos
  1. Add notes (optional):
  • Tap microphone to dictate
  • Tap text icon to type
  • Include maker's marks, condition notes, provenance
  1. Tap the checkmark to save
  2. Select Create with AI
  3. Wait for AI processing (usually 5-15 seconds)



The AI generates:

  • Item name and description
  • Historical information
  • Category and keywords
  • Comparable sales data



Creating an Item without AI



  1. Tap teardrop FAB > Create Item without AI
  2. Take photos
  3. Add notes
  4. Tap checkmark to save
  5. Manually enter item details



This method uses no credits. Fill in:

  • Name
  • Description
  • Price
  • Category
  • Any other relevant fields




Here's a video on how to use the Bulk Upload tool:




  1. Tap teardrop FAB > Bulk Upload Photos
  2. Photo picker opens
  3. Select multiple photos from your gallery
  4. Tap Done or Upload
  5. Each photo (or grouped selection) becomes a separate item
  6. AI processes each item (3 credits per item)



Tip: Group photos of the same item together when selecting.



Photography Best Practices



For best AI results:



Do:

  • Take clear, well-lit photos
  • Capture maker's marks and signatures
  • Include scale reference when helpful
  • Show any damage or condition issues
  • Use multiple angles



Don't:

  • Take blurry or dark photos
  • Cut off important details
  • Include distracting backgrounds
  • Mix multiple items in one photo






Managing Items



Viewing Items



Open a project to see its items. Switch between views:



  • Grid View: Compact cards, see many items
  • List View: Rows with thumbnails, quick scanning
  • Detailed View: Larger cards, multiple photos visible



Item Detail Screen



Tap an item to open its detail screen. Contains tabs:



Details Tab:

  • Item name (tap to edit)
  • Price (tap to edit)
  • Description
  • Acquisition information (date, price, source)
  • Sale information (date, price, buyer)
  • Location
  • Notes



Photos Tab:

  • All photos in thumbnail grid
  • Tap to view fullscreen
  • Add, delete, reorder photos



Media Tab:

  • Video associated with item
  • Record or upload video



Insights Tab:

  • AI-generated description
  • Category suggestions
  • Keywords
  • Historical information



Comparables Tab:

  • Similar items that have sold
  • Price distribution chart
  • Grouped by relevance
  • Venue breakdown (eBay, Etsy, etc.)



Editing Items



  1. Open the item
  2. Tap Edit or the pencil icon
  3. Modify any fields
  4. Tap Save



Searching Items



Use the search bar at the top of a project to find items by:

  • Name
  • Description
  • Keywords



Filtering Items



Tap the filter icon to filter by:

  • Status (active/archived)
  • Price range
  • Date range
  • Category
  • Location
  • Custom filters



Multiple filters can be combined.



Sorting Items



Tap the sort icon to arrange by:

  • Name (A-Z or Z-A)
  • Price (high-low or low-high)
  • Date created
  • Date modified
  • Custom sort orders



Selection Mode



For bulk actions:



  1. Long-press any item to enter selection mode
  2. Checkboxes appear on all items
  3. Tap items to select/deselect
  4. Use Select All to select everything
  5. Action bar shows available bulk actions:
  • Move
  • Delete
  • Download
  • Share
  1. Tap outside or press back to exit selection mode



Moving Items



Single item:

  1. Open the item
  2. Tap menu > Move
  3. Select destination project
  4. Confirm



Multiple items:

  1. Enter selection mode
  2. Select items to move
  3. Tap Move in action bar
  4. Select destination
  5. Confirm



Deleting Items



Single item:

  1. Open the item
  2. Tap menu > Delete
  3. Confirm deletion



Multiple items:

  1. Enter selection mode
  2. Select items
  3. Tap Delete in action bar
  4. Confirm



Warning: Deletion is permanent.






Photos & Media



Photo Management



Each item can have multiple photos. The first photo is the primary/thumbnail.



Viewing Photos



  1. Open item > Photos tab
  2. Tap any photo for fullscreen view
  3. Swipe left/right to browse
  4. Pinch to zoom
  5. Tap X or swipe down to close



Adding Photos



  1. Open item > Photos tab
  2. Tap the + or add button
  3. Choose:
  • Camera: Take new photos
  • Gallery: Select existing photos
  1. Photos are added to the item



Deleting Photos



  1. Open item > Photos tab
  2. Tap the photo to select or open
  3. Tap Delete or trash icon
  4. Confirm deletion



Reordering Photos



  1. Open item > Photos tab
  2. Tap Reorder mode
  3. Drag photos to new positions
  4. First position = primary photo
  5. Tap Done



Cropping and Rotating



  1. Open photo in fullscreen
  2. Tap Edit or crop icon
  3. Use crop handles to adjust frame
  4. Tap rotate to change orientation
  5. Tap Save



AI Photo Enhancement

Enhance photos using AI (4 credits per enhancement):



  1. Open photo
  2. Tap Enhance or AI icon
  3. Choose enhancement type:
  • Background removal
  • Upscaling
  • General enhancement
  1. Confirm (uses credits)
  2. Enhanced version replaces or supplements original



Videos



Each item supports one video:



Recording:

  1. Open item > Media tab
  2. Tap Record Video
  3. Record using device camera
  4. Tap stop when finished
  5. Video saves to item



Deleting:

  1. Open item > Media tab
  2. Tap video menu
  3. Select Delete
  4. Confirm






AI Features



How AI Works in Valuable



Valuable's AI analyzes your photos and notes to:

  • Identify items based on visual features
  • Research similar items across marketplaces
  • Generate descriptions and historical context
  • Suggest pricing based on comparable sales

Price Suggestions



Get AI-recommended pricing:



  1. Open an item
  2. Tap Suggest Price
  3. AI analyzes comparables
  4. Suggested price appears
  5. Accept to use suggested price
  6. Or Edit to enter your own
  7. Save



AI Insights



View AI-generated information in the Insights tab:



  • Description: Detailed item description
  • Category: Suggested categorization
  • Keywords: Searchable tags
  • Historical Context: Relevant background



Updating AI Analysis



If you add better photos or notes:



  1. Open the item
  2. Tap AI actions (sparkle icon)
  3. Select Update with AI
  4. Confirm (uses 3 credits)
  5. AI re-analyzes with new information



Comparables



View similar sold items in the Comparables tab:



  • Grouped results: AI organizes by relevance
  • Price chart: Distribution of comparable prices
  • Venue breakdown: See where items sold (eBay, Etsy, etc.)
  • Individual items: Tap to see details



Regrouping:

  1. Tap Regroup or settings
  2. AI reorganizes comparables
  3. Different grouping algorithms available



Custom AI Instructions



Customize AI behavior per project:



  1. Open project settings
  2. Go to AI Instructions
  3. Enter specific guidance, such as:
  • "Price for Chicago-area estate sales"
  • "Focus on mid-century modern category"
  • "Discount eBay prices by 20%"
  1. Save



Instructions apply to all items in that project.






Collaboration



Team Concepts



  • Owner: Person who created the project (full control)
  • Accounts/Workspaces: Separate billing and project containers
  • Shared Projects: Projects you've been invited to

  1. Open a project
  2. Go to Members or project settings
  3. Tap Invite Member
  4. Enter their email address
  5. Select their role:
  • Group Admin: Can manage members and settings
  • Member: Can add/edit/delete items
  • Guest: View only
  1. Tap Send Invitation



Invitees receive email and in-app notifications.



Managing Members



View members of Project:

  1. Open project
  2. Go to Members section
  3. See list of all members and their roles


View members in Nav:

  1. Navigate to the folder or project in Nav panel (tap folder icon in bottom left corner of home)
  2. Tap three-dot options menu, tap Manage Members
  3. See list of all members and their roles


View members in Account:

  1. If you are an account Owner, tap Account button on Home screen (hamburger icon at top left)
  2. Tap account details
  3. Tap Manage Members
  4. Note: only Members who are included in the root account will be seen in the list. If you don't see the member, check folders and projects using Nav panel.



Change role:

  1. Tap member's name
  2. Select Change Role pulldown
  3. Choose new role
  4. Confirm
  5. Note: If you don't see the role selection you expect, it is likely because the user you wish to change has a higher level role in a parent folder that restricts downgrading their role here. If a user is a Group Admin of a parent folder, they can't be made a Guest or Member in a child folder or project.



Remove member:

  1. Tap member's name
  2. Select Remove
  3. Confirm



Accepting Invitations

When invited to a project:



  1. Check email for invitation
  2. Open Valuable app
  3. Tap Notifications (bell icon)
  4. Find the invitation
  5. Tap Accept or Decline



Accepted projects appear in your navigation panel (accessible via the folder icon in the lower right).



Leaving a Project or Folder



To remove yourself from someone else's project or folder:



  1. Open the navigation panel
  2. Use the breadcrumb header at top and tap folders to navigate to the folder or project you wish to leave
  3. Tap three-dot option menu and select Leave. (Note: you can't leave a project or folder you own.)
  4. Confirm



You'll no longer have access to that project.

Marketing & Sharing



Marketing Photos Wizard



Prepare photos for selling platforms:



  1. Open a project or items
  2. Access Marketing Wizard from menu
  3. Step 1: Select photos from your inventory
  4. Step 2: Choose download options (format, quality)
  5. Step 3: Preview selections
  6. Step 4: Choose destinations (Shopify, Etsy, eBay, etc.)
  7. Step 5: Complete



Downloading Photos



Single photo:

  1. Open photo in fullscreen
  2. Tap Download or share icon
  3. Choose save location



Multiple photos:

  1. Select items or photos
  2. Tap Download
  3. Choose format and quality
  4. Photos save to device



Download Queue



Monitor downloads in progress:



  1. Tap cloud/arrow icon in bottom bar
  2. View pending downloads
  3. Retry failed downloads
  4. Clear completed items



Sharing Items



Share single item:

  1. Open item
  2. Tap Share icon
  3. Choose sharing method:
  • Email
  • Text message
  • Social media
  • Copy link



Share multiple items:

  1. Select items
  2. Tap Share in action bar
  3. Choose method



Email as ZIP



Send multiple photos as ZIP attachment:



  1. Select items/photos
  2. Choose Email as ZIP
  3. Enter recipient email
  4. Add message (optional)
  5. Send



CDN Publishing



Publish items for web galleries:



  1. Open Marketing Wizard
  2. Select CDN Publish
  3. Choose items to publish
  4. Configure settings
  5. Complete publishing
  6. Get shareable URLs






Account Management



Multiple Accounts



Valuable supports multiple accounts/workspaces:



  • Personal account (your own workspace)
  • Shared accounts (organizations you belong to)



Switching Accounts



  1. Open Navigation Panel (folder icon in lower right)
  2. Tap account name at top
  3. Select different account
  4. View switches to that workspace



Profile Settings



  1. Tap Profile icon
  2. Go to Edit Profile
  3. Update:
  • Display name
  • Profile photo
  1. Save changes



Personal Workspace Visibility



Control whether your personal workspace appears:



  1. Go to Settings
  2. Find Display Personal Workspace
  3. Toggle on/off



When off, only shared accounts are visible.

  • Credits are purchased one-time (no subscription)
  • Credits never expire
  • Different AI features cost different amounts
  • Free features have no credit cost

Resetting Walkthroughs



To see in-app tutorials again:



  1. Go to Profile
  2. Find Show Tutorials or Reset Walkthroughs
  3. Tap to reset
  4. Tutorials will appear on next app use
